U by Uniworld - Experience The Seine A New Way!

In June 2018, we flew over to France to sail on the U by Uniworld Seine river cruise. We were beyond excited that it started in Paris, one of our favorite cities in Europe!

U by Uniworld is a new type of cruise concept aimed at the the younger traveler while providing a more affordable price tag. The ship itself was very modern and had all the creature comforts of other river cruise lines.

So what is it like? I’m glad you asked! Here is an overview of our fun and memorable experience.

U by Uniworld’s ship, named “The B”, stood out from all other river cruise ships with it's slick, black exterior.

Once inside the interior transitions under a stylish black and white along with geometric patterns. There are even hallways filled with portraits of millennial icons such as Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lawrence, Mark Zuckerberg, and more.

On board the ship there is one restaurant, two bars, an expansive roof deck, a spa, and a gym. All spaces are designed to bring the passengers together which - makes The B a very social and friendly place. They also form a WhatsApp group so everyone can chat and coordinate with each other.

In the mornings there is roof deck yoga and stretching exercises. You really can't go wrong with morning yoga while Paris floats by.

We stayed in the French Balcony Room which had a comfortable double bed, closet, under bed storage, desk, enclosed cabinets, tv and a private bathroom.

Meals on board are completely covered with your ticket. You get daily brunch and dinner which are usually served buffet style with a wide selection of dishes.

For the early risers light snacks and coffee are also provided in the lounge so you can get your munchies on while waiting for the brunch to start.

You can choose from a daily list of exciting excursions highlighting several destinations in each city you visit. The paid options are available to prebook weeks before your journey and if you happen to change your mind you can cancel up to 48 hours ahead of your excursion’s scheduled time.

If you feel like you want to follow your own groove you can hop off the ship (which is usually docked in the center of every city/town) and simply wander around!

For example, in Paris you can choose to walk around Le Marais on your own.

Cruising is a really comfortable way for exploring since all your lodging, transportation, and food is all taken care of! You only have to bring your bag, camera, and a sense of adventure. We loved how you could either pick one of the excursions or just explore on our own!

Did I mention the food also? You never have to worry about it since it's all included in the price of the cruise. We loved how the setting of the dining room was very social - it was easy to make friends to explore each city!
